Also my power head and heater used in bucket have turned white in last month from the 1 tsp of reef builder is this normal for it to coat like this ?

I wouldn't go thru all that trouble to mix salt.

when I used IO I would raise my cal. and mag in the mixing container with randy's 2 part to get to the levels the same as my DT.
so it is normal for most ppl. I also mix up 30 gal.s at a time though. the white stuff is prob. cal. it will precipitate if the alk. and cal. are dosed together. wait about a half hour between adding the cal. and alk part and it should be fine. |

It all sounds normal to me because I do something very similar.
