which skimmer
I was given a AquaC ev180 and I already have a ASM g3. Whic skimmer is better and is the one ot keep? I have a 75 gallon reef tank.

They're both good skimmers. You need to overdrive the AquaC ev180...the recommended pump (Mag 7) is too small for the task...go with a Mag 9.5. Also if you dose ozone it tends to reduce the skimming ability of the AquaC
I've never tried an ASM, but hear good things about them...most people modify them in some way though to get the performance they want. |

I have a RPS 1000 from Pacific Coast Imports on my 65g reef and love it. Wish it was a bit quieter though.
Never used the other two but considered the ASM G2

I used to run an EV 120. I thought it did a good job. It was very quiet, but it frequently went out of tune and needed some tinkering to get it just right. And cleaning it was a reeeeaaaalllllllll PITA!.
I now run an ASM G4x. I LOVE IT! It creates a mess of skimmate. It is simple to run. It keeps dialed in, with the gate valve mod (<$25). It is a snap to keep clean. It may make more noise, not really sure, I keep it in a basement sump. EV was under tank. If I had a choice like you do, I vote ASM all the way.
