i have a 120g reef tank, with current orbit extreme power compact with 4 130w bulbs. they have been in there for about a year now, and i figure it is time to change them out. i was looking around. currently there are 2 dual daylight 6700ºK/10000ºK bulbs, and 2 Dual Actinic 420/460nm. i found these bulbs, 10,000k Day & 460nm Actinic - 130W. would it make a difference if i just got 4 of those, or should i just stick with what is already in there. the 10,000k Day & 460nm Actinic - 130W are like $24, where the replacement bulbs, same, are like $50.
Thanks!!! |

I can't see what is wrong with the set up you have now. you have some good spectrum going. how are your tanks in habitants doing? did they exhibit a good amout of growth in the last year with the lighting set up you are running now? if it works, don't fix it!

You should check out the phoenix bulbs on www.premiumaquatics.com. They have a built in actinic unit and work great for my 90 gallon reef.
YES! A perosn from Halifax, my hometown! Unfortunately, I live in a small town in Indiana now.
