New tank

How are the biocubes. I'm looking at transferring from planted

aquariums to reefs. Do the biocubes have all you need in them (good

filter, skimmer, good lights) or just the bare minimum. I also have a 29

gallon aquarium in my attic (standard AGA) would that be a better

option and just buy the necessary equipment separate (monetarily

speaking??) than the biocube? Also what is a good size aquarium to

start out with and not spend a fortune. I deff want to keep it under

29 gallons but am open to anything from a 10 gallon up to a 29 gallon.

It just seems like price increases exponentially with even slightly

bigger tanks (more live rock, more salt, bigger lights ect.) Really all I

want is to be able to have some interesting fish and the ability to

add and grow corals as I go.

P.S. I was browsing the tank of the month section, there are some truly amazing tanks. but just out of curiosity what would you estimate some of the bigger set ups cost? for example the current tank of the month (June). That must be ridiculous.

Anyways, thanks in advance, John

I have a 14g BioCube, they're are pretty nice. I replaced the fans and added an extra 24w bulb. Also replaced the return pump and did a bit of dremeling in the back chambers. I just got back into the hobby so I needed a quick fix before I set-up a 90g+ shallow tank. If I was in your spot I would go and set that 29g up and add a 10g sump, a good skimmer and retrrofit T5s and you're good to go.
