Whoa! Flow!

OK. Opinions seem to vary about flow. I have a 46g bowfront. I had about 450gph of flow, and everyone screamed it wasnt enough. I have since added two Maxijet 1200s. Some of my corals love it, and some hate it. My frogspawn seems to half love it and half hate it, two heads have swelled in size, the other two seem a bit uncomfortable.

So I have about 1000gph now. Is this "correct flow" for my softies and a couple LPS?

It sounds like you may just need to adjust the powerheads so that they don't point in certain directions. I'm not sure how you set yours up, but you could try pointing them at the glass to get a more random flow that wouldn't be a direct jet on the corals. Some softies won't enjoy the flow too much, so you'll have to keep trying different set ups, and possible move corals if things aren't working out. I would also look into the sureflow (I think it's called) mods for the maxi jets. You can find them on Dr. Foster and Smith. It makes the flow more dispersed rather than a concentrated jet. That also may help you since most of your corals will not enjoy the direct jets.
