why is my water cloudy
I have had my tank running for about seven weeks now. It is done cycling. I have done two 10% water changes, and my parameters are as follows ph 8.0 ammonia 0 nitrite o nitrate 1-2 salinity 1.028 alkalinity 3.0 calcium 375 phosphate 0.0. I have not stirred anything up, moved any rock, or messed with the inside of the tank in anyway for over a week now. should i treat it, change more water or just wait it out? Any feedback or suggestions will be greatly aprecciated!

Most likely a bacteria cloud. Changing water can actually make this worse. Lust give it a bit of time. At most run a little activated carbon in your canister filter.

Not that it has anything to do with the cloudy water, but your salinity is a bit high. It should be at 1.026 for a reef; some people running a fish-only tank might even have it a bit lower. I'm assuming you plan to adjust the salinity before you put any stock in there. Are you using a refractometer to measure the salinity?

I use diamond, rinse first in ro/di water. I would just give it some time. The nitrogen cycle that you think you are through is followed by many that you can't measure. What are you running in your canister for filter media? 80 pounds of LR is on the low side for that tank. Are you using a fuge? Macro algae like cheato can help with cycles also.

Should have asked before if you are using tap water or ro/di. You should use ro/di.
