sump lighting

Should the light in the sump be left on all the time or timed to be on only at night?

Some people run theirs 24x7, some do a reverse light cycle...we do a reverse light cycle on both of our systems.

Plants actually won't grow as fast if the light is left on 24/7. They only really need an hour or two a night to recover, I have my sump light turned off for 6 houres between 10 pm and 4 am.

/But the more the lights are on the more the plants photosynthesize making nutrient and oxygen in your aquarium

OK! I need to ask about the effects on ph. Some have said the lights should be run at night to stabilize ph swing but I have not been able to confirm this. Has anyone a source on this subject?
