sump building questions

I have a 10g sump in the bottom of my cabinet. Thats all I can fit down there. I have a 55g tab=nk with overflow. I had the tank running for about 4years now. I used 5/8 drain hose. Its leaking now because its backing up. I need the rework my whole sump any suggestions. I cant move my sump directly under the drain because there is no room. If I could do that I would have a stright shot with the drain. My hose is kinded a little plus I used stiffer hose. Let me know a good suggestion
