How about a panel of experienced hobbyist taking questions from other members? They could each tell about their set-ups and maybe tell why they opted to go with the equipment they did. Would there be enough questions?

Someone to explain the different types of skimmers--- show and tell;

Someone to talk about the primary benefits and differences of sumps and refugiums;

Panel would be ok if, like sheryl said, we generate enough questions.

Let's talk tank flow(the through put that we should flow).

IE: 500gph turn over for a 50G tank.

yesh! I love hands-on stuff, but when it comes to setting up something as important and easy-to-screw-up as a sump I'd like someone over to help/oversee to make sure it's done right. I just need to get my refugium and some vinyl tubing and I'm ready!

Bring that with you and someone can use it to demonstrate. I bet there is a member near you who could help you put it in. Do you have an over flow box set-up?

Also the speakers get the privilege of not claiming to be an expert and saying, “Here is what works for me.” then explain why they came to the decision they did. I would be willing to talk about my refugium/remote deep sand bed. I also am not a “full out” reefer with every coral I have ever wanted in the tank. Reason? Too lazy and too poor.

i have my skimmer, overflow box, return pump, and LS. I need to determine how much vinyl i'll need and get a tank for the refugium. I don't think I'd want to lug all that to the meeting, though.
