lettuce nudi
I got a free lettuce nudi. I remember hearing they only eat certain kinds of algae, is this true?

Yes, they only eat specific types of algae. Unfortunately, there are at least 3 species of lettuce slugs (they're not nudibranchs) and they all have different and seemingly very specific diets that still haven't been entirely worked out yet. One is thought to eat hair algae, one eats Caulerpa, and one eats calcareous green algae.

From FL. Elysia clarki feeds on Caulerpa as do several other members of the genus. However, it's the least common of the 3 "lettuce slugs" in the hobby. You tell it from E. crispata by the small gap between the leading edges of the parapodia in E. clarki.
