baffles for my 20 gallon high sump

im gonna start my sump build. i have a 20 gallon high tank and i need to know how big the baffles have to be. the tank measures 16 inches high and 24 inches long and 12 inches deep. what should i make the baffles?

There isn't any set size...I think most people set them about an inch or so apart. Are you going to put an in sump skimmer in there? Some of them have a minimum depth to sit in...It also depends on the plumbing in and out.

Just leave yourself enough room to manuver your hands in there. (at least about 4 inches).

Remember that you can always cut the silicone out and re-design it later.

I would use 1/4 acrylic. It's easier to use and you can cut it yourself. It silicones (is that a word?) great to glass and is less prone to breakage.

(But then again I sometimes suffer from BGS - big galoot syndrome).

ive got a seaclone 100 skimmer and a mag 5 return pump. the skimmer im gonna hang on the side of the sump.and the order i want it in is from left to right skimmer fuge return. that way its flowing in one direction

That sounds good. I'd make the fuge as big as you can, but leave enough room for your pumps and your hands...
