Lion fish feeding and tank mates

Curious how often to feed my guy. I feed him a full shrimp cut up in two intervals during the week. What else should I feed him? Just looking for ideas that I may miss. I have him housed with a damsel, they have been together for about 4 months, and seem fine together. He does track her from time to time, but she is far too fast for him. Although, I know if he could fit her easily in his mouth, he would eat her. If there is a problem, obviously changes will ensue, but my ultimate question is can you ever house a red voltan with smaller fish successfully?
