Jump start my friends tank.

My friend Nick fell in love with my 75 gal and decided he wanted a SW tank also. I helped him find a 14g bio cube that seems to be perfect for him and he is now reading up and gathering supplies.

The tank he bought was used and was just broken down yesterday and all the live sand was kept wet ect. so he has an empty tank and LS right now.

If I take some water from my DT from a WC i was gonna do anyways and put it in his tank would it speed up the cycle or eliminate it all together. The LS he has i took home with me and rinsed out with some premixed salt water and is now in a 5 gal bucket with water covered. The WC i could do i would just be with out blasting off my rocks to keep the water clean, and i could blast the rocks next change.

So with LS and cured live rock and water from my DT could he have cycled tank with out the waiting period?

You can still expect (highly) a cycle of some type. I would still wait and test all parameters. You know the drill. Hope i could help.

That is kinda what i was thinking maybe a faster mini cycle he is in no hurry and i would only want to help him out so i was wondering. Plus i am about to set up my QT and i was wondering about doing the same for it and not having to worry about a cycle.

No need for LS or LR in a QT. QT = tank, Premixed water, heater, some type of filter, powerhead and PVC for hiding. Nothing exotic or expensive. Watch for spike in ammonia, do water changes if detected.
