Question Aqua Remora SKIMMER

I've purchased the Remora after previously owning a Prizm skimmer ...the deluxe pro series or whatever.

people said online its a great skimmer and so far it has'nt flooded and its been collecting some stuff but i noticed the Prizm...collected thicker stuff while the Remora collects more Dirty green yellow water...but non the less water.

First thing you're thinking is ok...he must raise the collection cup...

Well its about raised to the max it can be.

Second you might think...maybe some slime coating will produce wetter skimmate

Well...again i have none added. Only thing I ever throw in there is frozen food some filter food anddd occasionally some Purple Up

ANY IDEAS??? SUGGESTIONS? IS the watery skimmate normal?

Another thing i did is i added my heater in the skimmer on the return side...this has worked great so far with no problems...the wire sticks out the side where the overflow cutout is made.

Last question is. EVEN after 8 months of running sometimes i still see micro bubbles i have tried stuffing foam in there putting a stocking over the overflow(BAD IDEA IT WILL PUSH WATER OUTSIDE OF THE TANK)

i know they make a bubble trap /preskimmer but I don't want to purchase one for four reasons.

1) its ~20$
2) its big and bulky
3) many say this will not stop all the bubbles from entering the tank
4) I don't have a drilled tank...and no sump or auto top-off meaning i have to stay on top with top-offs (say that 3 times faster
) and i cant hide it in a sump and hope to lose the bubbles by the time the water returns.

ANY IDEAS SUGGESTIONS???

I'm very open to DIY and I'm very broke so im all ears.

PS- I have a solution to those who own this skimmer who have a problem with the noise. Let me know if you're interested

thanks for reading and im looking forward to replies.

ALSO! keep negative comments and attitude to yourselves. this is a forum where people post to get help...or help others. if you find someone posting somehting about a bad experience they had with a product...its THEIR bad experience and are maybe ONLY trying to inform others.

happy reefing/fish keeping..../skimmer ...running?

Is it a used skimmer---if so you may need to take a very thin brush and clean out the air venturi on top of the unit
