Rio mini sun lights?
Really short and simple with this question. Are they basically the same thing as the solaris led system in terms of light quality and theoretically, at only about $30 a pop, can I just buy like 10 of these and have similar results as with the more expensive solaris or are the solaris bulbs bigger/brighter or whatever? I do understand that the solaris has the computerized system and can fade in and out and all that but I'm just talking about simply quality and par of light in comparison. Thank you for the input.

Hope that link worked...note they have the 50/50, sunlight, and deep blue fixtures.

Anyone? Again down to page 3 with no replies. Just in case nobody has an answer to this, it will be the last bump.

I have one for my fuge. The light is pretty strong I think --- too strong to function as a moonlight. I have one problem with it not being able to be hooked up to a timer. Once the system loses energy and gains it back it reverts back to an off state (probably a relay at work).

LOL, nice to see someone else is interested in this post. Weird though that they cannot be used on a timer. You would think that with the way a timer works the timer would act as the source of the open/closed circuit and all would be good. Well, either way I'm still interested in trying out these lights. A friend of mine has a little 3 gallon pico tank and is currently using the lights that come with it (18w I think). I wonder what light would be better? Or maybe even 2 of them over it. With a tank that size I wouldn't want to go with t-5's or halides and since led's are considered to rival the halides this is my interest with these lights.
