Seeding new tank

Starting new 10 gal. tank. Just added some water from my display tank & R/O water mixed with Instant Ocean Salt added. Can I put a Live Rock from my display tank in immediately or should I wait longer?

yeah like gmneil said...let it settle for a bit then youre free to AQUASCAPE!!!!!!!!!!!

you might want to take some sand from the display aswell...it could help alot.

with a 10 gal...all that live stuff in there already from another tank it might not cycle at all

Yeah, that's pretty much how I set up my 12g. In addition to taking the live rock from my tank, I bought a bag of dry aragonite sand and started seeding that in my sump about a month prior. Obviously, it's too late for you to do that, but as alextheromanian suggested, taking some of the sand from your main tank will certainly help. You probably won't have much of a cycle (if any), but be sure to give it time just in case. I waited about a month before adding any coral or fish. . .I was harassed constantly at work where I'd set up the tank for having an aquarium with nothing but a couple chunks of rock in it. Then, remember to take it really slow. Nano tanks don't do well with sudden increases in bioload.

Best of luck. As long as you take it slow and give the tank lots of attention, I think you're really going to love having a smaller tank. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the Nano tank forum as well.
