Need help making my tank look pretty! need advice :)

Hello:

I recently bought some yellow and red Gorgonian for my tank as well as some unusually large (5-6") shaving brush plants however they keep tipping over

I need advice on how to keep them propped up and prevent my sand sifting star fish from tiping them over every day!

Your advice is welcome

Regards,

Estefano

I have a pair of pistol shrimps so I had the same dilemma.

I found a nice, delicate branching piece of live rock and wedged my shaving brush plant in a hole between the branches. It worked pretty well.

I am looking to make a small forrest in the middle of the sand bed so there is no LR that I can wedge it into... I was thinking of creating a stand out of acrylic and stick a toothpick through the acrylic and the shaving brush but I fear I might kill the plant...

please advice...

Regards,

E

You can try the reef putty/rock putty that is used to hold pieces of rock together and use it as a sinker. Mold it however you see fit so it goes around the base of the plant, use a small zip tie, super glue the plant to it...just a thought

If you stick the ends through egg crate, and bury the egg crate under the sand, that might work . . . If the holes are too large, you can zip tie or silicone two pieces of egg crate on top of each other at slightly different alignments to make the overall diameter of the holes smaller.

I use a piece of really flat and wide reef rock, crazy glue the corals to it and then bury the flat reef rock--impossible to knock over
