KH /Alkalinity question
I have a calcium reactor going on my tank now for about two and a half weeks. The effluent pH is about 6.5. The problem is my KH is getting way up there, around 15 or so. It was a little high to start with, around 12 probably because I was adding Brightwell KH buffer.
Should I turn down the CO_2 bubbles? Right now, the reactor is has CO_2 at about 60 bubbles per min and it the effluent is coming out at about 35 ml per minute. It is a two chamber reactor Pro-Cal reactor. Thanks in advance again for all the help. I very much appreciate it! |

Yes, reduce the CO2 addition rate. You are adding more than the system needs to maintain calcium and alkalinity if alkalinity is rising.
