Exclamation Gold Head Goby dumping sand on corals!

I am sure this isn't a problem, but how can my corals grow and expand with my goby dumping sand all over them and on the rocks on which the coral are?

I have 3 ricordeas that I wish would mount on some dead coral, but the goby keeps dumping sand on them too. Can the coral still attach itself?

Thanks.

I got rid of my Diamond Watchman Goby for the same reason. I think it affected my corals and I didn't like the mess that it made? Did you just get it?

Yes. I just got it yesterday. I've read about it online. Supposed to be reef safe. Where I got it said they will keep my sand really clean.

I don't want to get rid of it.

Is it eating? Sand sifting gobies have a tendency of not eating. Then they don't get what they need from an aquarium sand bed and... You get the picture.

Same question here. Only it is my trigger that covers all my rocks, and corals with sand.
I was thinking of switching to larger sand, but don't know if that will help.

Like dogs bark, that's what sleepr gobies do ... keep good water motion and the sand will be disbursed from your rics.

Shrooms are pretty good about clearing their surfaces. just don't mount them on rocks sitting on the bottom, and for the rest, the shrooms can probably shrug off the sand unless it's really extreme. My clam gets dusted now and again and gets rid of it. These things happen in the ocean, too, and most corals have ways of getting rid of a *little* sand. If what's going on is too extreme for your tank, you might have to trade him in OR switch types of corals: lps definitely can shed extra sand, particularly the type with 'heads'---sand just goes through the clump.

i had to put mine in the sump, it got so bad that i could not keep anything on the sand. no clams or corals at all. they do keep the sand clean, but in my opinion, you don't want your sand disturbed as much as they do.

Will the sand effect zoas from spreading. They can get the sand off them, but will they still spread if the rock is covered with sand?
