Electronic Co2 Regulator any good?
hi all,
Is theAquariumPlants "Electronic Co2 Regulator" a new model (seems like it is their new "BEST" model)? Has anybody used one for their calcium reactor? Any feedback is appreciated. thanks |

Wow, that is BRAND new and VERY cool...! I've never seen anything like that. Great concept and idea--I may have to check one of those out...
Aquarium Plants regular CO2 regulator is very highly touted and beloved by members here, so I would think with this reputation going for them, they would not screw it up with a problematic electronic version. Time will tell... Yeah, that really is cool--no needle valve, no solenoid--all electronic!

my M3 that came with deltec reactor quit. I called AP about the electronic one and they're back-ordered, waiting for some parts. Wondering if i just order the standard regulator one or wait a week or so for the electronic.

FYI. They are now shipping. I received my UPS tracking number on Friday, with expected delivery Aug 14. (Love our customs, nothing arrives in less than a week)

I placed my order July 18. For Canadian deliveries, they planned to ship August 5. Obviously there was the delay while they waited for parts. I could only speculate, but they may plan the export shipments first because they provide a date commitment (only twice a month).
Hopefully you will hear early this week. Quote:

Hopefully I will. I'm just a little irritated because when I placed my order the web site said the regulators were in stock.

I placed an order for one on 7/24 and I've not heard anything either. The website said they were in-stock at the time too. A little communication would be nice.

Be sure to make posts once you get the unit (build quality, setup), and then several weeks after you have lived with it, shoprat and rockworm--some of us are closely following this thread to see how this unit works out before purchasing. I have high hopes...!

Will do Todd, even though I don't have much experience with regulators. I might even toss in a pic or two.

My M3 regulator quit too, and was just about to order the reef fanatic one when I happened to see this thread. Decided to order this electric co2 one instead. Can't wait to see how this works.

That thing is sweet. I might have to find some funds to get me one of these. I like the idea that there is no solenoid to fail and the dial is unheard of.

Man, how timely was this thread! I'm on my 2nd regulator in <1 yr and had just ordered a 3rd today. I've now ordered the aquarium plants' "bad boy" and can't wait to set it up. Thanks for the info peeps...

I got mine today. There were no instructions with it. Remember I'm a regulator noob so I'll probably get involved with it tomorrow.

I received mine as well. It was well packaged, but not in what I would call an on the shelf box. The unit was wrapped in sfot but strudy paper, then placed inside a box with peanuts and bubble envelope for extra padding. This was then packed in a larger box with more styro peanuts and large air bag cushion all around.
I did not get instructions either, but I have the instructions for the CA Rx. i still need to get the tank. I really do not need to hook it up yet, as there are not sufficient corals in my system. However, I will probably hook it up within the next week.

Yeah I didn't get instructions either, and this is also my first time setting up a reactor. Guess I'll figure it out as I go.
