New G2 Skimmer
I am about to start up my new G2 model and from the posts I read that a lower water level is best to avoid excessive micro-bubbles in sump.
Are there any other break-in problems that I should worry about other that collection cup overflow?? Thanks Doug

I have been researching skimmers, I have found that the ASM skimmers take about a month to break in and perform 100%. So dont get discouraged if it is not running normally at first.

The skimmer needs a minimum water level to function properly. Does your sump have a bubble trap?
Do the mesh mod to the impeller. You will be happy you did. |

Yeah, the mesh mod on the ASM's is a no-brainer... It really helps to jack them up into true skimmer status. They are under-powered with the stock needlewheel...

Thanks for the responses.
Yes I do have a bubble trap, so far minimal micro-bubbles in tank. I will consider the mesh-mod, as for now i have the gate valve mod in place and will look into ordering the mesh. Any suggestions where to get the mesh-mod??

Also, make sure you have a constant water level in your sump for best performance.
