vits and micros a waste?

Is the use of vitamin and micro-organism supplements a waste of money for a reef tank? Don't they just get extracted by the skimmer before being of any use?

I think some are good but their value will be argued by both sides. I feed Rods food, phyto 2, and have done some vitamin C dosing.

When ever I add food etc. I turn off the skimmer for 30 minutes to give the tank time to use it.

By far the best way to give fish vitamens and oils that they miss in prepared foods is to feed them silver sides minnows.
That way you are feeding guts and all the organs where they oils and vitamens are.
I do supplement with vita chem, frozen brocolli and bananas

Yea. I keep forgetting to turn off the skimmer. I noticed this morning after providing a vitamin supplement that it was sitting in the skimmer.

I haven't been able to find silver sides, only brine shrimp or raw shrimp to feed my clowns and anemone. What do you feed broc and bana too?
