Start off a lower amount than you plan, then seen if you need more, then get more, but if they're doing a good job, why mess up a good thing? Also, I don't believe in that 1 Snail/Crab per gallon, seems like a lot of waste.
In my 55g I have: 15 Turbos 20 Narcissus Snails 5 Scarlet Hermits 5 Blue Leg Hermits 1 Mithrax Crab |

well i was thinking that the nassarius would be good, i've heard good things about them but i was wondering which is "better" between the crabs and the shrimp? i don't want all 3 (crabs/snails/shrimp) just maybe 2 of the three... but maybe

I moved my hermits to the fuge as they were eating snails. I would just go snails and shrimp in the display. And i do love my cucumber In my 75 i think i have 3 astreas, 10 nerites, 1 regular nassarius (hitchhiked) 2 tongan nassarius, about 60 very small ceriths, cucumber and an emerald crab.

10 shrimp? I've never seen that many in a tank. I would focus on snails more than shrimp. If it's a new tank, you'll be battling algae more than you will be battling extra food and detritus in the tank. Also, shrimp are kind of sensitive. With a new tanks chemistry\temp swings.. you might just be wasting money.
