ID on unknown critter (pics)
I am currently away from my home on a trip and my wife gives me a call saying that they is something brown and very spikey in the tank... then two of them... then three of them. Naturally having a heart attack when she said worm and brown before saying spikey I thought she was describing a Pololo Worm. But after saying spikey and sending me pictures.. I don't know what to make of it...
![]() ![]() ![]() Any suggestions would be great.. this is a new tank and would hate to not take action as soon as I get back ![]()

Looks like a Nudibranch of some sort in the second picture.
They don't look very small and three of them showed up at the same time? They must have been waiting for you to go out of town. ![]() Maybe have your wife scoop them up and toss in your sump\fuge untill you get back. |

Well I don't have a fuge but I'll see if she is willing to scoop them out and toss them in the trash... better to be safe than sorry I guess...

I'd say send the pics to the Sea Slug forum and see if they can ID it... and remember that some Nudis have stinging cells, so don't let the wife pick them up bare handed if you do decide to have her dispose of them before you return

She can remove them with tongs, chop sticks, forceps... put them in a small container of tank water, seal it and let it float in the tank for now. Each day, change the water until you return.
