Tang Itching..Help!

I had a blue tang in qt with copper before I intoduced him to my 90 gallon dt and now he is itching on the rocks first day in........what is going on....he has been in copper for 4 weeks. water par. perfect.

You might have ich in your display tank. It doesn't always show on the fish, but my newcomers always get it, and then it goes away after a while (but still remains in the tank waiting for the next newcomer).

Blue tangs and tangs in general get ich very easily during any move. Mine got so bad that his eye puffed out. He is fine now and everything is good. You must make sure he is eating and try not to stress him too much.

+1 for blue tangs = ich..
feed and observe..
they dont tend to do well in copper also.

I suspect the copper irritated it's skin or it got a bacterial infection. Now it's scratching. If it were mine I would put it back in the qt and treat for a secondary bacterial infection with the appropriate antibiotic.
