Pincushin Urchin : Deposting small yellow balls?

I have a purple/pink/red pincushin sea urchin that I witnessed excreating some kind of very small yellow balls. Did this several times within about 10 minutes. The "balls" are approximatly the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen and bright yellow in color. The Urchin expelled about 20 in several seconds at least twice in the 10 minute period.

What the hell is it?
