american marine pinpoint II Calcium Monitor

Can anyone help me out with this thing.
I Calibrated it and it worked okay the first time.... Double checked with a salifert calcium test. My question is how long does it stay calibrated.

Also, when I went to use it a few weeks after I got it. I turned it on an then put the probe in the tank water (removed from tank). The reading jumped around from 537 to 467. That is a big jump in my opinion. So then I rinsed the probe with RO water put it in the sample water and then turned it on and I got a completely different reading... What is everyones opinion on these pinpoint monitors?

Thanks.
