can I have a filtration system for both aquariums

Hi everyone, I am thinking about Putting in two tanks in to different locations of my home.

One will be on the second floor 200gal 6'long for the salt water fish.
second tank will be a reef tank 120gal 4' long on the first floor.

My ideas in question, will it work with just one filtration system?
and if so, the filtration system will be setup in the basement, in its own 6x5 room.

I will be able to run dedicated power two both tanks as well as waterlines for: *drainage *saltwater-return * R/o water.

travel lines will be 40' to the first floor tanks and 60' at most to the second floor tank.

I was thinking. because I have the room, I could have an extra 200gal or so tank in the basement for the added salt water.
along will the filtration system.

so is this possible? and please any suggestion and ides will be great.

thanks
Tiber

It is possible, but I would recommend against it, only because the fish only tank will generate higher nutrients (i.e. nitrates, phosphates) which will affect the corals of your reef system. I would still locate the filtration systems of both systems remotely in the basement, but I would keep them separated in my opinion.
