Well this be safe?? 2nd story question..

I will be moving into a newer apartment/townhome next month..I have a 90g w/40 gallon fuge/sump..live rock in both..The living area sits above the garage. Will the weight of the tank be OK on a second floor??
Anyone that has experience in this or construction experience, I would greatly appreciate any comments.....The only other alternative is to strike the tank and I really couldn't handle that right now ...HELP!!
Thanks guys..

You should be okay...

I had a 180g on a second story rickity old apartment over off of Melrose and it was just fine...

The water by itself wieghs around 8.5 lbs per gallon, so figure for your system by the time you subtract the rock mass from the water weight, your water alone will weigh around 850 pounds, plus rock and tank, probably close to around 1000 pounds....

If the structure can't hold this, something is wrong...!

180g !! awesome.. I was just worried that all that weight concentrated in one area would be a problem...I really appreciate the feedback...I was thinking I was done for sure!!

i had a 120g with a 30g sump on the 3rd floor for about 1 year never had a problem. But if i jumped next to the tank i could see the water move. i guess i was pushing the limit. Good thing it neve crashed all the way down

This happens to me, now, in my first floor apartment, with a 90g net system...?
