Should I get an electronic ballast?
I have a JBJ 28 gal nano cube with a double ended JBJ 14000K MH which runs on a magnetic ballast. There is a company that sells an electronic ballast for this tank:
http://www.nanotuners.com/product_in...a5518fbbf67652 Do you think it is worth getting an electronic ballast. Will I really see any difference in PAR or color. For that matter, is there a better ballast that I could buy? I plan in the next 4-6 months to replace the bulb as well. I also run PC actinics on the tank. |

from what i was told mag use more electricity but you get alittle more intensity out of the bulb not all bulbs should bu run on a mag ballast
electric can run pretty much any bulb, and better on the amout of electricity it uses thats about all i know i use magnetic and see no reason to spend more money for a new ballast if it works for you i say keep it |

magnetic burns the bulb brighter...bulbs need changing sooner...electronic is better on your bill..bulbs last a lil longer...& why change what the tank came with ?

Thanks. I thought I had heard that mag burns a little brighter than an electronic. I thought that I read that maybe the color temp from the bulb may be better with an electronic. It doesn't seem like changing the ballast would make much of a difference, maybe even lose some intensity. I dont really care about electricity usage.
