Undergravel Filter?

I'm just recently getting back in the hobby and have what may seem to some a pretty basic question. So I'm setting up a 46 gallon bowfront, my plan is to have fish & a few scattered invertrebrates,(shrimp, maybe a flame scallop, starfish, etc.) I'm using a H.O.T. magnum for a filter, I have a Seaclone 100 for my skimmer & I have a 10 gallon homemade wet/dry filter. My question is do I bother with an undergravel filter? Is there any pont? All opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

If this is what you are used to then I'd say do it.
Modern tanks nowadays do not use them.
Will you be using live rock at all?

Yes I was planning on adding some live rock. I don't have a undergravel for the tank and I guess I'm just wondering if I should bother spending the $50 or so that an undergravel will cost or spend my money elsewhere, ya know? Thanks for the opinion.

No need with the undergravel with the other filtration you already have plus the live rock. You could probably do away with either the Magnum or wet dry also. Skimmer, live rock, filter (canister or wet/dry) and you are good.

Thanks Paul, I think I'm probably going to skip the undergravel then, I was leaning that way anyway.
