Feet Or No Feet
Setting up an Aquapod for my boy. I got the stand for it. The last step on the instructions is to screw in these plastic "feet" sort of like hockey pucks underneath the bottom of the stand. This raises the bottom off the floor by about an inch or a bit more. Seems less stable that way.
I'm thinking of removing them. Anyone here have an Aquapod stand? Did you use the feet?

i dont...
but, i wouldnt use them if it seems to be less stable. your tank needs to be leveled with a bubble level of at least 8"-10" in length to reduce stress on the stand as well as the tank itself, which can cause cracks or complete breakdowns. Lowes or Home Depot, in the window/door section, will have pine shims that are sold in bundles at very cheap prices. use them to level your tank by shiming the stand bottom to level your tank as close to perfect as you can get.

I would wait to level it until the system has been setup for a little while because adding any weight could cause it to shift a little.

Anyway, about the only area in this hobby where I have consistently good luck is on this topic: for the third time in a row, the tank in the spot it needs to go is perfectly level in all directions. No shims needed.

Isaac Newton said, "Give me a fulcrum and a lever big enough, and I can lift the weight of the world."
That's what the "feet" must be for, to get under it.

cherubfish -- yeah, you could lift anything with the right lever, but with an aquarium there'd be water all over the place and in any case I have no idea how you'd get the lever under the stand (now that I am not using the feet.)
In any case I think you aren't understanding what this dilemma was. Anyway, it's solved.
