1/2 inch sea swirls
Would a mag 9 pump be too much for a 1/2 inch sea swirl? Also in others experience would 2 1/2 inch sea swirls be of any benefit to a 75gl (48" long)

No. I use them with a considerably more powerful pump (throttled back to about a mag 10-12). I use 2 mounted facing each other across a 54 wedge bow.
