2-3" hanging over the tank here.

My Constellation fixture is actually made to sit right on the tank. My tank is rimless so this is not a good option.

I have a t-5 retro kit mounted to the underside of my hood, so the bulbs are about 5-6", however I do get some spray on them.

I have my tx5 sitting on the top of the tank with no raisers, ended up bleaching my acro's and melting my zoo's Until I used 2 sheets of window screen on lamp side of the acrylic shiled to block some of the light.
