Unhappy Yellow watchman gone white

Hello there,

My yellow watchman gobi has lost his color and now it looks white he seems more shy than usual. All the water parameters seem ok, and all other inhabitants are doing good.

Please let me know what you think, thank you

They tend to do that when low lighting or when lighting goes off at night, and when first seeing them in morning. During day when lights are on for a while they are yellow. If yours is still white during mid day and lights having been on a while, I'd research further. At least, this is experience I have had with my Yellow Watchman Goby. Mine is paired with Pistol Shrimp, so I see it all the time to view. Make sure its getting enough to eat. They seem to be opportunistic eaters if food goes by their burrow. However, I think they venture out at night. Hope this helps.

There was a post about this a while back. It said something about a sex change. Here is a link to an article, about 5 questions down there is a similar incident.

This is perfect! thank you so much. I will be doing a large water change today. and see how that goes. Otherwise I am not sure why he might be stressed
