Sump Layout

OK- just doing my finishing touches on my sump. Questionbs are

1) I assume that the float switches for the auto top off should go in the return section as this should be the section in which the water fluctuates due to evaporation? Correct????

2) Does it matter which section (Fuge, Intake or Return0 the heater goes?

3) Does it matter which section (Fuge, Intake or Return) the probes (PH, Temp, etc) go?

Anything else I should put in the sump or plan to install in hte future???

1. Yes
2. You will want to put in the fuge and not the intake or return b/c if the level ever fluctuates (which it will during evap. and water changes) the heater will be expose and cause it damage. The fuge should always stay at the same water level.
3. I would put this in the return because the Macro algae will effect the ph probe and grow on it. (assuming you will be using macro algae)

Skimmer in the fuge (if room allows) to hide it away.

If your trying to grow pods skim before the fuge. I couldn't tell by your tank stats or exp whether you were going FOWLR, mixed reef, or strictly coral.

My fuge actually sits off to one side and gets water from a tee in the drain. No worries
