Green Star Polyp hiding for over a week.
Is it safe to say this guy didn't make it if he hasn't been opened for over a week?

I collect GSP and I've had them close up for so long I was tempted to throw it out. Its just something they do though. They all come back.

Just a tip, you may want to try to keep it isolated on a single rock in the sand. Once it starts to spread in your set up it is really hard to get rid of it!

check your alkalinity: s/b 8.3-9.3, ph 7.9-8.3. They're sensitive to alk and can stay closed up so long they overgrow with algae. Nothing more stubborn.

Mine closed up twice in the year since I started my tank. Once when it was time to change the T5 bulbs. Second time, temp was pushing 85 degrees -- time to buy chiller. 2 weeks closed + 1 week after chiller, gsp are back. Good luck.

With MH lights would the chiller not be fighting the lights all the time?
