the 50/50 bulb is half daylight and half actanic. the 10,000k bulb is all daylight.

daylight and actinic have different spectrum
depends on what do you want to keep
are you looking for light for fish only tank or with corals?

different bulbs for different uses, one's not necessarily better than the other. harsh asks some good questions, what are you using the light for?

I do have corals, zoo's, mushrooms, gsp, feather duster and ricordia.

The light I have on this little pico is 7600K and everything is doing very well, but I am after that nice hue one gets on the corals that really makes their colors pop

I should also mention that this is my 1 gal pico, it has been going for a while now as I took stuff from an existing tank that I sold.

That is why I was wondering if the 10,000K or the 50/50 would give me that look I am after that makes the coral colors pop.

Thanks for the replies :-)

Hmm, well "pop" isnt really a technical term. If you're looking for them to fluoresce more, then get something with higher Kelvin values (10kK is pretty low, the 50/50 will have some actinic in it). This will have some negative effective on growth rates, but it will draw out some color of the coral.

My tank currently has 7600K 7 watts

What do you mean that 10,000K is low??

Sorry for the "tech term" but you knew what I meant...

What do you mean by the 50/50 would affect their growth??

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to understand what you mean....
