is it ok to turn off return pump for waterchange?

i have to turn off my return pump when doing water change..is it ok??thanks

I turn it off every week to do water changes. No problems.

thanks..just wanted to make sure it doesnt give the pump too much wear and tear...

I have to turn it off for water changes. The sump gets too low on water when I pump it out for the W/C.

It won't hurt anything to turn it off for a few unless of course if your sump isn't large enough to handle the water in the piping...

I actually think it is a good idea to turn it off periodically to make sure the suction breaks. That way when there is a power loss there are no bad surprises!

I always shut mine off when taking water out for a change. If I didn't my ATO would sense a water drop and automatically start pumping Kalk water in trying to make it up
