Do Blennies and Gobies need to be quarantined?
I picked up and Engineer Goby and a Lawnmower Blenny today. I have read that Gobies do not need to be quarantined, is this true? What about the Blenny? I was going to toss them both in the display tank but I thought I should probably quarantine them first so I gave them a freshwater dip for 7 mins then put them in quarantine. They both seem to be doing well and look healthy. How long should I keep them in quarantine?

IMO yes they need to be QT'ed. I suggest 4-6 weeks.
I applaud you for QT'ing. |

I QT'd my yellow watchman goby for 4 weeks. Even though he is a part-time sand sifter he did fine with the bare bottom. Did great eating frozen mysis. Just keep a close eye (test frequently) for ammonia and be ready to do water changes. Sorry for the unasked for advice if you are already experienced with the process..

Yes, absolutely quarantine. Regarding the Lawnmower, QT will allow you to try some different vegetarian foods. These fish starve in many cases because there isn't enough algae to sustain them. While in QT you can see if it will adapt to Nori, Spirulina, etc. I kept my Starry in QT for six weeks where it could sample a wide variety of foods. The Lawnmower is less likely to eat meaty foods than any other Blenny.

For sand sleepers and sandsifters. Some sand in a bowl works well. It does mean you'll have to clean up the spill and remove it if you choose to medicate ,however, since the sand will absorb some of the meds.
