making a screen top for my tank

Hi eveyone,

I would like your opinion on this. I'm making a screen top for my tank and i will probably use some bridal's vail as netting. I can get some black or some white.

The black one would look better because you can barely see it. You can see the white one more.

Do you think that i should use the white or the black ? Can the color of the netting make a difference in the amount of light it cuts.
Anybody use bridal's vail as netting?
Thanks

Won't the heat from the lights melt it?

Im just making a screen top out of the screen for windows. I just got the stuff from Home Depot and it did not seem to cut too much light out of the tank when I held it under the lights. I got black but I may try white as well. Its pretty cheap.
