super easy to keep.. you can keep them in the dark.. only thing about them is that you have to feed every few days

Lots of people have them.
They don't require lighting, but they do depend on frequent feedings. Several times per weeks is best. If you don't have proper skimming and filtration, you can easily create an overfeeding problem in your tank, if you aren't careful.

I have one that I feed 3 times per week along with alot of my other corals. To me it isn't as much work as it is feeling like a part of the tank itself.

They're great for tanks like mine where you don't use a skimmer. Mine are growing fast with somewhat infrequent feedings (once a week roughly).

Mysis is what I feed mine, he seems to prefer it over the brine.

I have yellow and black branching colonies. They both can be coerced into coming out during the day with semi-regular applications of bbs.

We have lots of them, though we feed them around 10 times each day. So they open even in our strongest sunlighting. And we feed them Mysis shrimp through a syringe (something that is alike a turkey baster).

Read this article from Melevsreef.com... very informative
http://www.melevsreef.com/suncoral.html I have one, and I have neglected to feed as often as I should (about twice a week)... I am now doing that again, and other than that, they are very very hardy, IMO Later, NathanS |

I have had one for only one week, but i made somethng easy to concentrate thefood over them with only a little effort.
Take a piece of tubing from your return line or water change line and attach it to a funel, Place the whole thing in your tankwith the funel over the coral and use a turkey baster to suck up the food and place it in the tub and squirt. it also works great for any other coral you truly want to spot feed. |

I have had mine for about a year in a high flow area where it gets plenty of food, and it is doing great.
Lately it is going south because I put in a skimmer and it's taking all of the extra food. IMO, I suggest not using a skimmer for infrequent feedings, and target feed once every 2 days if you want to keep them in a skimmed tank.
