Tunze NanoStream or Hydor Koralia?

I need two powerheads for my 75G LPS/Softie tank. I'm looking at the Hydor Koralias and the Tunze Nanostreams. Since the full size Tunze start at 1600GPH, I was looking at the Nanostreams instead, as with my sump return I think two of those would be too much.

I'd love to hear from people who have used them. What do you like about them? What don't you like? Are the Koralias as bulky as they look in pictures? Thanks!

I have 2 Tunzes 6055 and really like the small size. For a lps/softie tank you may get by with modded 6025s (and save $$$).

You can get Koralia 4's on ebay for like $45 shipped. I got a couple 4's like a year ago and have had no problems. Good luck.

Modded Maxijets are stronger and more compact than the Koralias and cost a fraction of what the Tunze's do. Glue the base to a cheap magnetic glass cleaner, hook a couple up to a wave timer and you're in business.

I use 2-6045's & 1-6025 Tunze. I would never think of using anything els, unless it was Tunze. Customer service is the best in the industry. Hands down.

I have 2 - Koralia 3's in my 54g corner. I love the Koralias... but I did purchase a Nanostream (the small one, 6025 I think). But I sold it to someone before using it because I thought about going BB and adding a bigger nanostream.

The Koralias & return will give me 40x flow thru my 54g corner... which at the moment I seem to be satisfied with. Should be just good enough to keep a few acropora with my zoo's and ric's.

My maxi-jets with the Sure-flo mods are completely silent. One's on a 900 the other on a 1200.

As I hate to see powerheads in the tank I would go with the least visually obtrusive and that would be the Tunze units.

I have 2 modded 6025's in my 75 SPS tank. They work great. Tunze service is top notch. For softies and LPS, 2 un-modded will be more than enough.

I got 2 modded koralia 4's. Modded with the maxijet sureflow props and shafts. I use these and 2 koralia 3's in my 135. Perfect.

I love the Tunze 6055's -- they're on the expensive side, but you can control them (pulse, feed mode, etc.), they give great flow when you turn them up, and they're not terribly big or ugly.

A cheaper alternative is the 6025 -- not controllable, but easily hacked with a dremel to give a lot more flow if you decide you want more down the road.

Which controller allows the 6055s to pulse? I have them on the 7091 and Pulsing isn't an option.
