Algaefix Marine
Okay...after a solid year of my wife and I fighting hair algae on our 75G Reef we are on to a new tactic. We are trying Algaefix by API. Before anyone starts bashing us please understand that we have already done the following, and are still open to suggestions.
1. Weekly water changes of 15G R.O. water using Instant Ocean 2. Ten Turbo Snails, various hermit crabs. 3. Foxface, various tangs, algae blennies 4. Lettuce Nudibranch 5. Searched high and low for any metal exposed and epoxied everything. 6. Refugium with Chaeto 7. Reduced lighting period 8. Eliminated White lights for months 9. Increased water flow by running 1 #3Hydor and 1#4. The only thing we havent done is syphon the sandbed due to corals on the sandbed fungia, various lps. Now we are running actinic 10hrs, whites 6hrs and adding algaefix every third day as directed. Just did the first dose on Friday afternoon. Will dose again on Monday afternoon. Hope this works as we are honestly ready to scrub the whole project and start over. Leroy |

One thing that is crazy is that when we get our water tested which is like once a week or every two weeks everything looks fine. Never have any issues.

save your money on algae fix . ..only bad things happen fast in reef aquaria !!the reason your po4 test comes back good is its all locked up in the algae
get a media reactor and run some gfo for a couple months and youll see difference for sure ... and 1 question ......is your cheato growing at a fast and steady rate ?? |
