Dark Green Cotton Ball type algae?!

I have an out break of fluffy cotton ball type algae that is dark green. Looks, I have cut down my light cycle by a few hours with no luck.

Nitrates, silicates, phosphates, are all 0 ppm.

I sure wish it would go away. Any ideas?

Cool site, I definitely have bryopsis of to, but I do not thing that is what I was asking about.

The stuff, I was asking about is similar I think it might be a type of hair algae.

I can't get rid of this stuff.

what else have you done other than cutting back the light cycle? Just because some of the tests read zero, that's not necessarily an accurate tell of the actual levels. If you have hair algae, you have phosphates in the tank.

Mexican Turbo Snails love the stuff. My 90 was completely overrun with that stuff when I first set it up. Three Mexican Turbos ate every spec in less than a week.

EDIT: That was the Red Cotton Ball, not the green. I've never seen the green....can you get a pic?
