reef question
how long can i keep shrooms zoas, maidens hair, and clove polyps in a tank that doesnt have any fish without adding anything. Its a new tank about 1.2 months old 2 fish stores tested the water said it was good. want to take things slow so i added the maidens hair first to see if it would do well it did. then added shrooms zoas and purple clove polyps and there doing great. added a snail and its alive so im thinking of adding a goby next week. i was just thinking that since im not feeding the tank will the coral be okay until i buy the supplements and fish next week. the coral has been in the tank about one week and the tank is 40 gallons

I would recommend getting the fish first then slowly adding corals after six months of the tank being setup. What are your parameters? As long as you do water changes weekly to replace the trace element in it then you should be okay for at least two weeks although I would not go any longer than that without supplements.

I don't imagine any supplements will very vital for your aquarium considering there are only zoos, shrooms and polyps.

thats what i believed the only time i had to dose was when i had my 100 gallon sps tank. i always thought that zoas shrooms were so hardy that just feeding fish and doing water changes was all i had to do
