temperature probe location

Hi guys,

I was thinking about putting my AC3 temp probe in my built in overflow. They are the megaflows that come built in the AGA tanks. It would be hidden and out of site. My reasoning is in case my return pump quit working in my sump and my halides cooked my tank. I would get a false reading of temperature water only in the sump. Do you see any problem in this location for this probe?

I like to put mine in the same place as my heater (so in my sump), but I can understand you're desire to keep it monitoring the display temp. Problem is, the water in the overflow would be isolated and heated quicker than the display if the return pump failed.

I like my temperature probe IN TANK which is where your livestock is. I make rockwork accomidate hiding it in a corner or back of the tank.

I ended up putting the temp probe in the overflow. I understand what your saying about the actual display would heat faster because water in the overflow is isolated, but I would have to believe the water in the overflow will get hot quickly as well with halides beating down on them.
