How much should I be feeding my pistol?

I have a 4 gallon finnex nano with about 5 # of LR with a 3 inch sand bed. The tank inhabitants are 1 tiger pistol, 1 peppermint shrimp and a small snail clean up crew. I've been giving him a couple pellets once a week but since it's a small tank I like to put as little food in the tank as possible to keep it clean.

Does he need supplement feeding? If so, how much? I see copepods and other critters crawling around all the time...

Thanks in advance!

IME inverts tend to be pretty big eaters. I'd keep feeding him at least 3 times a week. He'll take flakes, pellets, bits of nori, even pieces of seafood -- if you're eating fish for dinner, you could offer him a pellet-sized bit and you'll probably make his day

Thanks!

Anyone else have a pistol they feed or don't feed?
