QT and Acclimation

Hi
I set up a QT a while ago with used tank water, it has a heater and a Fluval 2plus filter (40L). I left it for two weeks and then did a 30% water change with new water, I left it for a week and then put in 5 blue/green Chromis, I have been doing 2 x 30% water changes a week with new water.
My plan now is to do a 30% water change this Saturday with old tank water, and then continue to do 2 x weekly water changes with new water for another 2 weeks and then put the fish in the display tank. Is this ok or should I still acclimate them before putting them in (in about 3 weeks).

Sorry for long post, just want to get it right as I have never used a QT before.

Barry

I think as long as you have:
same temperature,
ph,
salinity,
and same water parameters, there shouldn't be any problem

When maintaining a QT, I actually do water changes from the DT. I'm mixing up NSW two or three times a week, but the new water goes in the DT and the "old" water goes to the QT. The DT parameters are good, and by the end of the QT, my fish have been essentially living in the DT water--just in the QT. So no acclimation is necessary. I keep the temp the same in both tanks. For future reference, if new fish come in water with lower salinity (they usually do) I lower the salinity in the QT to match or almost match and then raise it gradually by doing water changes.

I do exactly the same as otrlynn.

Water changes from the dt to the qt, new water added to dt and lower the salinity with a bit of RO/DI in the qt for new arrivals if necessary.
