RO filter questions/problems
I am having some trouble with my RO filter and am wondering if anyone can help. I am setting up a new aquarium and decided it was time to upgrade my RO filter. So I purchased a TDS meter and changed out the micron pre-filter, the carbon filter, and the membrane on my RO filter. It has a DI component, but I couldn't find a replacement when I was ordering everything, so for right now that piece is not hooked up (the plastic holder for it is just empty).
So basically all the filters and the membrane are new. Unfortunately I do not have any TDS readings from before I put the new filters in. Here is what I am getting now: Tap water: TDS about 220 "Pure" water: about 330 "Waste" water: 15 With the RO membrane flush valve turned ON I get: "Pure" water: about 330 "Waste" water: 8-10 It's like everything is backwards. The blue line is producing bad water and the red line is producing good water. When I supposedly flush the membrane, the "waste" water gets even cleaner, while the blue line water stays about the same. Since the membrane is new it doesn't seem like it should need to be flushed, but I thought I would try it and see what happens. It is a Cora-Life Pure Flow II filter, which I know is fairly cheap but I bought it a few years ago when I was new to the hobby. Thanks for any help you guys can give. |

You either have some tubes in the wrong place or if you have an inline TDS meter you have one or more of the probes in the wrong place. If you'll call in we'll be happy to walk through the system with you and get it squared away.
